The Piecemakers at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church sit among 129 quilts completed this year. The quilts were distributed locally to congregational seniors, Capstone Ministries, The Mission Store, Indian Mission Church of God, Doves and Marshaltown, Colo. fire victims, with the remainder boxed and shipped to Lutheran World Relief at Minneapolis, Minn. Thirty two children’s quilts and three pillows were given to Western Community Health Resources; 29 lap robes went to residents in local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Three dog beds filled with small scraps left from assembling quilts have been delivered to the Mission Store. Lutheran World Relief also received 20 sewing kits consisting of two yards each of two fabrics and two spools of thread.
