Local pool players were recognized for winning the Spring Session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball and 9-Ball Pool Leagues.
Winning the Monday 9-Ball title was “Und9able” out of Bowl Mor in Alliance including Adam Snyder, Patricia Stevens, James Hansen, Charles Glass and Royce Wagner, Anita Olvera, Abel Olvera and Dalton Yetter.
League MVP awards went to Monte Dexter, Ryan Taylor, and Tala Olvera.
Taking the Wednesday 8-Ball championship was “The Dominators” out of The Gathering Spot in Alliance including Truen Henderson, De Holt, Tony Gonzalez, Leta Lucero and Nathan Grant, Jessica Grant, Bernardo Reza and Ryan Taylor.
League MVP honors went to Leta Lucero, Truen Henderson and Tala Olvera.
Tony Gonzalez earned the milestone award surpassing 500 matches played in the APA 9-Ball League, while Truen Henderson earned the APA’s National Sportsmanship award during his participation in the APA Poolplayer Championships in Las Vegas.
The winning teams each session advance to the Western Nebraska APA World Qualifiers to compete for trips to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas.
A new session of the APA Pool League starts in September. Teams have until Friday, August 25th to register.
