A doubleheader was played in Sidney last Monday night with the Alliance Peltz Co Spartan Prep downing the Sidney Prep team in both games. The Spartans defeated the hosts 10 to 3 and 8 to 6 in completing the sweep. In the opener, Alliance scored 7 runs in the sixth inning to garner the win.
The Peltz Co. hammered out 10 hits. Spartan Jay Shelmadine led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Left fielder Kyler Hamel added 2 hits and scored 2 runs by Alliance. Shelmadine started by the Spartans and yielded just 3 hits while striking out 3. Getting the win in relief was Xander Narjes who gave up just one hit in 2 plus innings.

Alliance got the W in game #2. The Preps scored 5 runs in the first inning and held off a late Sidney rally to win 8 to 6. Alliance would surge ahead 6 to 0 before 6 straight runs by the hosts knotted the contest at 6 all after three innings of play. The Peltz Co then tallied 2 runs in the fourth and final inning to preserve the victory. Four pitchers for the Spartans held Sidney to just 2 hits. They were: Cisco Cody Adams Trejo and Eban Lore who got the win. Narjes led the offense for the Spartans with 3 hits. Carsen Bunnell added 2 hits as the Spartans ended with 8 hits. Cody, Shelmadine, and first baseman Drayden Konopnicki each collected one hit each.
