Despite having only 3 hits, the Alliance Spartan Prep ball club downed the Security First Regulators of
Gordon/Hay Springs 11 to 3 in game two of the doubleheader. Alliance used 7 walks and 6 errors by the host to earn the win. The Peltz Co also won the first game of the twin bill earlier in the day, defeating the Regulators 15 to 10. Spartan starting pitcher Xander Narjes went the distance for Alliance in a contest called after the fourth inning due to the run rule. Narjes recorded 5 strikeouts and just 5 hits.
The action began the same way as the opener with Alliance lead off man Jay Shelmadine reaching base on a walk. Miguel Galvan continued his big day with another hit that got Shelamdine into scoring position. An error by the hosts followed, giving Alliance a 1 to 0 lead. Tanner Salcido, running for Galvan, put run #2 in the scoring column with a steal of home. Down 2, Security First knotted the contest with a 2 spot of their own in the bottom of the inning. The Regulators used a walk, a triple, and a passed ball to tie the game at 2. In the second, Alliance fail to score while the Regulators surged ahead with one run. Two strikeouts by Narjes kept the game close.
Nine big runs in the top of the fourth by Alliance gave the Spartans a huge lead. The frame started with a couple of walks and an RBI single by Casyn Nelson that tied the game at 3 all. Reese Muhr then walked to force in another Spartan tally. The Peltz Co margin then grew to 5 to 3 with an RBI groundout by Kyler Hamel. Gabe Dorenbach was next and his walk pushed the Spartan advantage to 6 to 3. From there, Alliance used a 2 wild pitches, a Regulator error, a walk, and 2 run single by Spartan Preston Flores to go out in front 11 to 3. Narjes held the hosts scoreless in both the third and fourth inning as Alliance went on for the win 11 to 3.
