Preps Fall to Kimball 8 to 7 on Walk off Walk

A bases loaded walk in their final at bat lifted Kimball past the Alliance Prep 8 to 7 in a ball game played Thursday in Kimball. The Spartans’ loss ended a 6 game win streak. Alliance led 7 to 6 in the third frame but a run by the hosts tied the battle. Kimball then won the matchup with a score in the fourth and final inning. With the loss, the Peltz Co has a record of 10-16-1 for the season. Kylar Adams pitched the entire game for the Spartans, striking out 7. Alliance had 2 hits on the game. The Prep squad did capture the first game of the doubleheader, defeating Kimball 12 to 0.

Alliance put 2 in the score column in the top of the first. Braden Myers was hit by a pitch to start the scoring and advanced after an error on a hit by Esai Trejo. A wild pitch then plated Myers that gave the Spartans a 1 to 0 lead. Trejo would eventually steal home for the second run of the inning. Kimball countered with a 2 spot in the home half of the frame. The hosts tied the game using a 2 run error by the Spartans.

Inning 2 had both teams scoring. Walks to Myers and Adams plus a miscue by Kimball gave the Peltz Co a 3 to 2 advantage. Four tallies by Kimball in the bottom of the inning made it a 6 to 3 contest. A three run triple was the big play in the frame for the hosts.

In the third, the Prep club took the lead with 4 runs of their own. Free passes to AJ Garcia and Eban Lore began the spree. Preston Flores also reached after being hit by a pitch. An RBI hit by Carson Stroud ensued as the Spartans pulled within 2. The Alliance deficit then went to 6 to 5 after a wild pitch. A big 2 run triple by Logan Freiberger was next that gave the Peltz Co a 7 to 6 margin. In the bottom of the inning, Kimball knotted the game at 7 with an RBI single.
