Crews are working diligently to complete the resurfacing project at the tennis courts located at 16th and Box Butte Avenue, near Alliance High School. Half of the post-tensioned concrete was poured last week, with crews experiencing a delay due to rain on Friday.
Shana Brown, Cultural and Leisure Services Director, told the Alliance Times-Herald earlier this month that the court was stripped down to allow for the resurfacing project to continue.
“They did some excavation around the outside edges, so those base walls will wrap that existing court system,” said Brown. “Then, they will install a vapor barrier and pour a hard-surface concrete over top of that.”
Brown said she expects the project to be completed by summer, though the timeline could be delayed by the weather.
