PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that Senior Services, Inc. dba Open Plains Transit is an Applicant requesting financial assistance from the Federal Transit Act, generally described below. The purpose of all Projects is for operating assistance to provide public transportation for FY 2026 & 2027.
Description of Project 1:
FTA Section 5311 Formula Grant: The location of the Project is the Nebraska Panhandle, North Central and Southwest regions and surrounding areas, in addition to South Dakota and Wyoming locations. The estimated cost of the Project by source of funds are $5,141,952 in Federal funds, $1,120,009 in State funds and $1,120,009 in Local Match funds from the Sheridan County, NE, Village of Hay Springs, NE, City of Rushville, NE, City of Gordon, NE, Box Butte General Hospital, Chadron Community Hospital, Regional West Medical Center, Gordon Memorial Hospital, Cherry County Hospital, City of Valentine, NE, Cherry County, NE and the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services.
Description of Project 2:
FTA Section 5311(f) Intercity Bus Program: Location of the Project is the Nebraska Panhandle, North Central and Southwest regions and surrounding areas, in addition to South Dakota and Wyoming locations. The estimated cost of the Project by source of funds is $4,049,875 in Federal funds, $2,024,938 in State funds and $0 in local funds.
Description of Project 3:
FTA Section 5311(f) Intercity Bus Program: The grant funding will provide financial assistance for intercity bus services for Nebraska residents and visitors. The service operates between Omaha, NE and Denver, CO and is provided by Express Arrow. The estimated cost of the Project by source of funds is $1,845,180.59 in Federal funds, $1,845,180.60 in State funds and $0 in local funds.
A copy of the application for financial assistance of the Project is available for public inspection at 323 Flack Ave., Alliance, NE, upon request. Senior Services, Inc. will accept signed, written comments for consideration for a period of 7 days ending April 30, 2025.
