Gothenburg High School hosted the annual junior high track meet on Saturday in near perfect weather
conditions. Over 60 school had athletes who qualified for the event. Columbus Scotus was first in the boy’s team division with 45.5 points with Gretna taking second with 38 points.
Northwest was the champion on the girl’s side with 38 points. Mary Our Queen was the runner up with 31.5 points. Alliance Middle School had a pair of qualifiers for the meet. Eighth graders Eddie Red Nest Wyatt Barthel Hardy both participated in the long jump with Red Nest also taking part in the 100. Red Nest ended in 17th place in the long jump with a leap of 17’8 while Barthel Hardy coming in 19th with a jump of 17’5. In the 100, Red Nest’s time of 12.09 was good for 11th overall.
