On last Tuesday the Lady Red Raiders brought their #4 power point ranking into Alliance for a contest with the host team. The Bulldogs would begin the contest without 6 of their top 12 rated VPS athletes. Shelbee Burke, Emma Wood, Olivia Knapp, Amauri Browning, Bailey Stark and Haley Weare would all sit the contest out with either injury or illness. Several Bulldogs would play valiantly even though they too were feeling the effects of the illness running about the school. The Raiders would have too much firepower on the night for the shorthanded Bulldogs to compete with. The Raiders would roll to a 64-24 win to improve their record to 17-4.
Payton Weber would return from absence to lead the team with 10 points, 7 rebounds and the high VPS score of the night. Fellow senior, Jordan Hopp would contribute 8 rebounds, 3 blocks and the second highest VPS of the evening. Angie Davis would add 10 points to the cause. Cameron Tritle would also contribute 7 rebounds to round out the effort.
The Bulldogs were in action Saturday with a road game at Brush Colorado. The Beetdiggers are 11-5 on the year. The Dogs will have to shake off the illness going around. The initial practices to prepare for Brush have only seen 8-9 girls in attendance. This has forced the cancellation of the sophomore game scheduled.
