Staff attended the quarterly ER/ICU/Trauma Committee meeting at Box Butte General Hospital.
Staff participating in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) training Friday and Saturday at the WNCC Harms Center in Scottsbluff.
Airport:
Upcoming FAA inspection.
Follow up on the airline selection was completed upon return from vacation. Department of Transportation stated the decision should be coming to us soon.
Staff participated in the Supervisor Training conducted by HR.
Budget work continues.
Participated in prairie dog advisory board meeting. Future community education is in the works for July or August.
Maintenance staff continue with the prairie dog hole filling duty. Pasture inspections were completed this week.
Staff worked on safety areas and dragging them to fill gopher holes.
Maintenance staff preformed a special inspection of all airfield signs. This takes two inspections, one in the daytime and one at night. No new sign panels are needed this year.
Special taxiway light inspection was conducted.
Loader seat was repaired.
Mowing has begun with the terminal being the first area done.
Electric:

Worked on mowers and completed additional repairs, as necessary.
Installed new wiring on Unit 612 so that we can use it to pull a trailer.
Delivered bleachers to the moto cross track for races this weekend.
Pool:
The first second delivery of chemical arrived this week
Continued taking swim lesson registrations for this summer.
Conducted interviews and sent job offer notices to seasonal pool staff
Ordered test kit materials and got staff registered for necessary training
Assembled uniform order materials for guards and cashiers
Museum:
Continued digitizing the new batch of court records received from Box Butte County
Worked on updating cemetery records for several area cemeteries
Cleared out excess items left over from the Museum conference gathering.
Sorted a substantial photo collection that was donated as part of a larger collection
RSVP & Senior Center:
Compiled and submitted the end of the federal year reporting for the RSVP program
There were fifteen volunteers in the community assisting with activities and events.
Visited the High School and recruited three new volunteers for the Volunteer Youth Alliance program.
Continued providing dine in and delivery meals for area seniors.
Hosted many events at the Senior Center including cards, bunco, coffee and treats and a movie afternoon with treats.
Library:
What a busy week of spring cleaning here at the library! Many thanks to members of the City of Alliance Parks, Public Works, and Maintenance departments who all pitched in to help us clean out the basement! We filled a large H&H container in no time! Our hope is to clean up the basement space so we can have art classes there without making a mess upstairs! Still lots to be done but what a great start thanks to our COA co-workers!
Adult Services Librarian Nalani Stewart cataloged new materials and hosted the APL book club and the Highland Park Care Center book club. She also hosted the Humanities Nebraska program “And all that jazz” by Randall Snyder and prepared for the Humanities Nebraska Program next week by Jeff Barnes.
Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn held Story Time A to Z featuring “X is for Xylophone” that included making rainbow xylophones and music with rhythm instruments. Cynthia shared upcoming events on KCOW radio, organized Book Mobile, cataloged new items and maintained backpacks. Her preparation for upcoming events continues, including Summer Reading. Additional projects include updates for book displays and website, including a Wiggleworm feature of “Spring Into Poetry”.
Technical Services Librarian Emily Nelson helped with summer reading preparation, processed interlibrary loans for the library book clubs, private book clubs, and patrons, assisted patrons with computer questions, made weekly Bookmobile deliveries, and updated the Staff Picks page on the website with the latest staff recommendations.
Library Clerks Pam Becker and Stephanie Hamilton have been busy with summer reading preparations and processing new materials. They have also been working on some of the spring cleaning projects and shelf reading.
