Police:

 Attended Planning Commission Meeting

Utilities Billing Services:

 Cycle 2 bills mailed

 Cycle 4 reminder notices mailed

 Nine new residential accounts

Electric:

 Two employees attended the Cody Hotline School Monday through Thursday

 Work continues in the Burnham Drive/West 21st Street alley rebuild

 Work continues on the west 14th street three phase rebuild project

 Performed irrigation load control

 Assisted homeowner with meter can/siding installation

 Repaired/replaced several streetlights

Water/Sewer:

 Performed 29 locates and 44 work orders

 Installed 60 radios

 Performed 1 meter change out

 Collected routine water samples

 Collected Carhenge and Airport samples

 Ran camera through sewer line at Big Horn/Burnham

 Cleaned two lift station pumps and check valves at A station

 Assisted contractor at Berean church

 Collected chlorine residuals

 Repaired chlorine leaks at Burnham and Elkhorn wells

Streets:

 Performed 29 locates

 Replaced curb on Box Butte

 Painted curbs yellow

 Painted red fire lanes

 Replaced non-reflective speed limit signs and installed new posts

 Cleaned up paint machine and put away for the year

 Turned on flashing lights around schools

 Hauled rock and graded Sweetwater

 Cleaned up cement on Cody Street

 Mowed Kansas Street

Landfill:

 204 customers this week

 219.16 tons of refuse this week

 New baler was installed this week

 Performed staff training on new baler

 Cleaned under conveyor

 Performed machine and equipment maintenance

 Ran burn box and cleaned out

 Extinguished compost flare up

 Continued bale work on current lift on top of loose fill

Library:

 It’s the week before back to school and we are  preparing the library for a busy upcoming Fall season! Storytime will be beginning September 2nd and we will be introducing our “Digital Detox” programming for our students to have some Friday activities that do not involve staring at a screen! We hope to make these sessions a permanent part of the library’s events to help with keeping students active in learning on Fridays!

 Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn has registration continuing for LEGO Club, Story Time, and the first APL Digital Detox event, making Grandparent’s gifts.  Cynthia’s projects this week included KCOW announcements, Library Board meeting, and collecting Book Mobile items and delivery. She also worked on overdue lists and preparations for fall programs. Her ongoing projects include cataloging, backpack maintenance and inventory, and updating the website and book displays.

 Adult Services Librarian Stephanie Hamilton delivered books to Highland Park Assisted Living Center, prepared for book clubs and presentations, maintained displays, and helped at the front desk with circulation.

 Library Clerks Pam Becker and Carolyn Hamel have been busy processing new fall arrivals that are focused on Back to School, Halloween, and yes, even Christmas titles are  starting to roll in! Come up and see what is new!

Museum

 Staff has been helping with several requests for research assistance in the Heritage Room of the Museum.

 Many out of town visitors and tourists from other countries have visited the museum in the last week.

 A driver training was held in the Theater and a wedding shower is also on the agenda for the week-end.

RSVP

 There were 10 volunteers in the Community. Patrons played cards, did yoga, bingo, had coffee and treats and also played bunco!

 Staff continues to provide dine in and delivery meals daily.

Parks

 Vacuumed the fountain.

 Irrigation repairs at Softball.

 Trimmed trees per city ordinance at Bandshell, the 9th Street Tennis Courts and Knight Museum.

 Added algaecide to Laing Lake.

 Sprayed herbicide at Laing Lake, Softball Complex, and BN ballfield to control thistle and bindweed.

 All ballfields and big parks got mowed.

Administration:

 Work on the FY26 budget.

 Preparation for upcoming City Council Meeting
