A road-rage incident led to an accident near the intersection of Fourth Street and Cody Avenue on Thursday, resulting in a citation for one.
On March 4, at approximately 3:26 p.m., officers with the Alliance Police Department responded to the report of a two-vehicle accident and a fight in progress, according to Sergeant Cody Buskirk.
“The investigation revealed a 17-year old male of Alliance, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox with an 18 year old female passenger. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Cody Avenue behind a 2002 Dodge Intrepid occupied by a 24-year old male, Donovan Black of Alliance,” Buskirk said.
Buskirk noted that Black applied his brakes abruptly, leading to contact between the front of the Equinox and the rear of the Intrepid. No one was injured. Officers issued Black a citation.
In a different incident on Wednesday, at 11:18 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Third Street and Sweetwater Avenue.
“A sole Alliance male resident was driving a 1969 white Chevrolet pickup eastbound on East Third Street. A 2009 White GMC Yukon, occupied by a sole female Gering resident approached the intersection from the north. The driver of the GMC Yukon failed to comply with the stop sign and entered the intersection before it was safe to do so. The front of the Chevrolet pickup collided with the passenger side of the GMC Yukon,” Buskirk said.
No injuries were reported, though airbags were deployed in the GMC Yukon. Buskirk noted that seatbelts were in use in both vehicles. Officers issued the driver of the GMC Yukon a citation.
