An Alliance man was taken into custody recently, where he is charged with burglary, a class 2A felony.
According to court documents, Jerome Robb, 45, of Alliance, was taken into custody on April 28. The arrest spawns from an incident on April 27.
According to the Affidavit for Custody, a deputy with the Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a vehicle that was being tracked was parked near some abandoned houses in Berea. Two deputies waited in the area near the parked vehicle, when they noticed a flashlight being used in one of the abandoned residences. They observed an individual in dark clothing leave the residence and walk toward the vehicle.
The deputies pulled up behind the vehicle and initiated their emergency lights. One deputy exited the patrol unit to make contact with the individual, but he could not locate the person. The other deputy made contact with an individual identified as Jerome Robb, who was lying in the ditch on the west side of the street, next to the parked vehicle. The deputy had seen Robb stand in front of the parked vehicle before walking toward the ditch.
One deputy had Robb empty his pockets, “which contained numerous items of value.” The deputy noticed a large screw driver in one of Robb’s pockets. They detained Robb to conduct an interview with him, and he was later taken into custody on April 28 at 12:45 a.m. His bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000.
