Robert (Bob) Benjamin Nason Obituary

Robert (Bob) Benjamin Nason, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and devoted friend to many, passed away peacefully June 20, 2025 at age 64.

He was born on September 14, 1960 in Alliance, Nebraska, the eldest son of Benjamin (Ben) and Dorothy Nason. He spent his youth in Alliance, attending its schools and graduating from Alliance High School in 1979. He spent the majority of his working years as a design specialist and engineer at Perrin Manufacturing in Alliance while also helping at the family farm. He married Lesa Slattery in 1984, and they had one daughter, Renee Finch.

Bob was a lifelong dedicated Husker fan, primarily enjoying football and women’s volleyball. He also enjoyed NASCAR and, in his younger years, building go-carts, including one for Renee. Despite his many hobbies, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren Ethan, Lauren, Ian, Jackson and Mila. In 2006 he met his loving wife, Deb Lentz Christ and they spent many great years together, bonding over their mutual love of sports.

He is survived by his wife Deb; his father, Ben and his brother, Michael (Mike) Nason (wife Shari), of Alliance; his two sisters, Debora (“Debbie”) Edmunds (husband Gene) of Windsor, CO and Sandra (“Sandy”) Nochi (husband Wayne) of Gering, NE; his daughter Renee (husband Randy), and his grandson, Ethan of Las Vegas, NV; his stepdaughter Emily Walmrath (husband Eduardo), and his grandchildren Lauren and Ian; his stepson Hunter Christ (wife Ly) and his granddaughter Mila all of Omaha, NE and his stepson Cody Christ (wife Sarah), and his grandson Jackson of Lincoln, NE.

Bob was predeceased by his beautiful mother, Dorothy.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 13th, in Alliance, NE at the Alliance Eagles Club. The celebration will consist of doing what Bob loved – spending time with friends and family while watching the Huskers.
