Robert William ‘Bob’ Wright Obituary

ROBERT WILLIAM “BOB” WRIGHT, 74 of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Bob was born July 27, 1946, at Alliance, Nebraska, to Max Elton and Lenieve Catherine (Bovat) Wright. He graduated from Alliance High School before attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he obtained a degree in Commercial Art.
On January 9, 1965, Bob married Betty J. Evans in Akron, Colorado. The couple made their home in Alliance before moving back to Lincoln, where Bob ran an art gallery. He went on to work for several companies in the area in sales and marketing.
In the late 1980s, the couple moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, where he worked as Chief Operating Officer of United Phone Book, a telephone directory advertising company. Bob made a host of connections through his work in the field and traveled extensively throughout the country and other parts of the world. Bob retired in 1998. The couple made their home in Ogallala in recent years to be closer to family.
In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed pheasant hunting. He was very skilled at woodworking and construction and enjoyed working with his hands.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Tom and Max Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Ogallala; children, Chris (Kate) Wright of Ogallala, Chad (Kathi) Wright of Ogallala, Heather (Neil) Hoffman of Arvada, CO; two granddaughters, Loren and Sadie; siblings, Norma Jensen of Alliance, Judy (Tom) Wright of Kearney, Frank (Mary) Wright of Kearney, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
