For 83 years, the Sandhills Cattle Association has been holding its Annual Membership Meeting, but over the years, we’ve added a trade show, cattle contests, educational speakers, and entertainment. This year we will be changing things up a bit with a more banquet style event with a steak dinner on June 15th, at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, NE. Since it is just around the corner, we’d like to invite you and your family to enjoy a great evening in the Heart City.
Our evening will start around 4 p.m. with registration and cocktails by Corner Pub. Then we will go into our Annual Membership Meeting and Presidents Transition with the Silent Auction starting at this time as well. Steak dinner will be served at 5 p.m. CT and then speaker Clay Patton, Farm Broadcaster with KRVN, will begin! After Clay is finished, we will hear from Elliot Dennis, UNL Assistant Professor – Livestock Marketing, talk about the cattle markets and what to expect in today’s world.
Finally, Howard Wright Scholarship Recipient Spencer DeNayer will speak about how the scholarship program has helped him pursue his rodeo career in college and then we will award our 2023 Scholarships and end the evening with our Benefit Auction! Please bid on items to raise funds for our Sandhills Cattle Association Scholarship Program! This program has awarded over $117,750.00 in scholarships to the youth of the Sandhills in the last 30 years! We will have lots of items to choose from including a .22 Henry Long Rifle, a Hastings Bottomless Tank, and more.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our banquet in just two weeks! Please join us for a great steak dinner, informative speakers, and support the youth of the Sandhills.
