One person was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries after a semi and an SUV collided on the Kansas Street overpass.
On Jan. 2, at 2:36 p.m., Crystal Ibarra, of Alliance, was traveling westbound on the overpass in a 2002 Isuzu while Johannes Van Schoor, of Minatare, was traveling westbound behind Ibarra in a 2007 Peterbilt.
Ibarra slowed her vehicle, but Schoor did not reduce his speed fast enough, leading to the front of the semi making contact with the SUV.
Ibarra was transported from the scene for treatment of possible injuries at Box Butte General Hospital. Her vehicle was totaled, and Schoor’s vehicle sustained minor damage.
