Seven scores in the bottom of the first inning propelled the Alliance seniors past Sanford White team 13 to 1 on Friday. The Spartans moved to 18 and 7 for the year. Alliance had only 3 hits for the contest which was played in Gillette. Carver Nemnich started for the Peltz Co and went 3.2 innings. Relief pitcher Kegan Rodriguez recorded the final out.
A triple and RBI groundout by Sanfort gave the Sioux Falls squad an early 1 to 0 lead. Despite not getting a hit in the home half, Alliance put 7 on the board. Jaxon Poss began the spree by reaching after an error by the White team. Up next was Espen Lanik who walked. The seniors first score came after an RBI groundout by Cody Galles. A wild pitch then made it 2 to 1. After free passes to Jaxson Esparza and Kobe Strom, a miscue on a hit by Nason Thompson made it a 3 to 1 ball game. Another wild pitch then gave the Peltz Co run four. Alliance then reloaded the bags after a walk to Mikey Johnson. Tony Escamilla was next and his RBI walk made it 5 to 1. Alliance finished the frame with an RBI walk to Lanik and another wild pitch by Sanfort. After one inning of action, Alliance led 7 to 1.
Nemnich had a clean inning on the hill in the second, striking out 1. Alliance also went scoreless in the frame. Inning 3 had no scores for the South Dakota squad while Alliance put 2 in the column. Walks to Poss and Esparza plus an error by Sanfort and a wild pitch made it a 9 to 1 matchup. In the finale, Sanfort failed to score. The Spartans would end the game with 4 in the bottom of the inning. Knocks by Thompson, Lanik, and Creighton Fritzler finished the 13 to 1 victory for the Peltz Co.
