The St. John’s Lutheran Church Endowment Board is currently accepting applications, due Saturday, May 3, from individuals, service and faith-related or organizations.
“Applications which are consistent with the purposes of enhancing the mission outreach of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alliance, and the mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will be considered,” said Melinda Ewing, board chair.
Endowment funding can assist groups with causes, events or projects, and to individuals seeking scholarships for economic or spiritual needs. Individual scholarships can include faith-related education, training or youth camps.
Applications are available from St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2090 Emerson Avenue in Alliance, or upon request by email at contact@alliancestjohns.org. The eligibility criteria is detailed in application materials. Recipients will be notified in May.
Two distributions in 2024 totaling $22,000 recognized 14 recipients such as Head Start and Bulldog Backpack Programs, Alliance Ministerial Association, United Way of Western Nebraska, St. John’s Piecemakers,, St. John’s Preschool, and The Lakota Lutheran Center, Scottsbluff.
