Wilderness Wonders Camp a Huge Success
The North Panhandle 4-H Staff hosted two Wilderness Wonders Camp on May 26 and 27. There were 45 campers who attended on May 25 and 35 campers on May 26 from Box Butte, Dawes, Sheridan, Sioux and Garden Counties. The campers shot archery, planted pots or terrariums, played team games, learned how to program robots, and so much more.
4-H Entomology Workshop
Youth will have the opportunity to learn more about bugs while they create a pollinator house on June 13 from 9-11 a.m. at the Box Butte County Extension Office. Participants will learn from a bug expert while attending this class. Youth who are at least eight years of age are eligible to participate, they do not have to be 4-H members. Western Livestock Challenge
Test your livestock knowledge while you attend the local livestock judging contest on June 16 at the fairgrounds in Hemingford. Youth will judge six different classes of livestock and have the opportunity to win prizes within their age divisions. This contest is for youth ages 8 to 18. This contest is also a part of the Great Plains Livestock Judging Circuit. Lunch will be provided. Youth can register the morning of the event between 8 and 9 a.m. The contest will start at 9 a.m.
