Several Panhandle Residents Appointed by Governor

Governor Jim Pillen is announcing the appointments made to boards and commissions from January 1, 2024 through May 31, 2024.

A list of current board and commission openings can be found on the Governor’s website (https://governor.nebraska.gov/board-comm-req), along with instructions for completing an application.

The following is a list of Panhandle residents who were appointed to serve:

Benjamin Backus, of Gering, was appointed to serve on the Enhanced Wireless 911 Advisory Board. Ryan Morgan, of Chadron, was appointed to the Nebraska Board of Geologists. Christopher Gentry, of Hyannis, was appointed to the Nebraska Brand Committee. Miguel Rocha, of Scottsbluff, was appointed to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Kevin Spencer, of Gering, was appointed to the Nebraska Crime Commission. Jack Berg, of Bridgeport, was appointed to the Nebraska State Historical Society. Alec Langan, of Chadron, was appointed as a Student Trustee for the State College System.
