Sheri L. Favela, 50, was called home Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.
She was born July 7, 1971 in Omaha, Nebraska. Shortly after she was born, through the gift of adoption, she became the daughter of Lloyd and Veneta Softley. Her family moved to Alliance in her youth and she graduated from Alliance High School in 1989.
She married Efrain Favela on May 18th, 1990.
Sheri had a passion to help people in their emotional and physical pain. This passion was carried out in Celebrate Recovery leadership in which she lead Step studies, CR Jail ministries, and in co-facilitating in Grief Share where she helped people navigate through their grief. She genuinely cared for, encouraged people and has touched many people’s lives. She also enjoyed doing everything she could for her Kool-aid kids.
Survivors include her husband, Efrain, her children, Michalla (Paul) Houston of Alliance, James (Cassie) Favela of Alliance, Tony (Makayla) Favela Benton Harbor, MI and Ronnie (Kalli) Favela of Hanston, KS and her grandchildren, Zayla, Nevaeh, Liannah, Phoenix, Lander, Treysen, Kooper, Faithlynn and Kolter. She is also survived by her mother, Veneta Softley of Alliance, her brother, Steve Softley of Alliance, her biological mother, Linda Pratt of Custer, SD, and her sisters, Heather Sanchez, Susanna Pratt and Cheyenne Pratt of Custer, SD. Sheri is also survived by her pets that she absolutely adored, Frankie, Calliope (her southern belle), Remington and Kiko.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Softley, her biological father, Ronnie Ormesher and her brother, Travis Jeremiah Casteel.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, November 30th at 2:00pm at the Alliance Berean Church with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
