In honor of International Women’s Day, the Snow-Redfern Foundation is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 cohort of the Root2Rise program, a leadership initiative designed to support young women interested in expanding their potential through exposure to important topics affecting women today.
Root2Rise provides participants with coaching, skill-building, and scholarship opportunities, helping them develop leadership skills and prepare for their futures. By launching applications on International Women’s Day, the foundation recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for young women to grow, connect, and lead.
“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the potential of young women and provide them with opportunities to nurture their leadership skills and empower them to lead with heart and voice in communities across Nebraska,” said Sara Wilcox, Executive Director of the Snow-Redfern Foundation.
Program Highlights:
Virtual Workshop Series: Participants will hear from professionals in Trades, Agriculture, and STEM fields who will share their experiences and insights.
Mentorship Opportunities: Each participant will be connected with mentors who can provide guidance and encouragement.
Scholarship Awards: Those who complete the program will receive a scholarship to support their next steps in education or career development.
Expanding Opportunities: Introducing Young Men Rising
In addition to Root2Rise, the Snow-Redfern Foundation is expanding its leadership programming with the launch of Young Men Rising, a new initiative designed to offer similar support for young men. This program will provide support for young men, fostering self-awareness, emotional resilience and leadership through a dynamic learning experience.
“We are proud to offer programs that give young people opportunities to grow, learn, and connect with Nebraska leaders who can guide them along their career paths,” said Wilcox. “With Root2Rise and now Young Men Rising, we are creating spaces where young leaders can develop their potential and take steps toward their goals.”
