Scottsbluff Police responded to a reported injury accident at the intersection of Highway 26 and E 20th ST. The accident was found to involve three vehicles. The investigation determined a maroon 2011 Ford Expedition driven by Ana Montanez 45 of Albuquerque, NM. was east bound on Hwy 26 approaching the intersection with E 20th ST. A silver 2007 Toyota Rav4 driven by Brian Livingston 49 of Scottsbluff, NE. was on E 20th ST at the posted stop sign facing north preparing to turn west. A silver 2011 Cadillac driven by Leonard Wyatt 43 of Torrington, WY. was stopped waiting directly behind the Rav4. The Rav4 failed to yield to the approaching Expedition and the vehicles impacted in the east bound lanes of HWY 26. The impact caused the Expedition to veer south impacting the posted stop sign at the south portion of the intersection. After striking the stop sign, the Expedition impacted the front drivers quarter panel of the stopped Cadillac. One occupant was transported by Regional West Medical Center Ambulance Services to RWMC for treatment of a minor neck injury. All three vehicles were towed from the scene. Estimated damages were $7000 to the Expedition, $5000 to the Rav4, $5000 to the Cadillac. Livingston was issued a citation for Failure to Yield. The intersection was closed for approximately 45 minutes. Scottsbluff Fire Department and RWMC Ambulance Services assisted in the response.
