On July 13 at approximately 11:15, Scottsbluff Police were dispatched to South Beltline Hwy West in near the Main Street Market west driveway in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

The investigation found that a 1992 Ford Bronco driven by Hunter Childers 22 of Scottsbluff, NE, and a 2023 Blue Chevy Silverado driven by Kory Knoles 22 of Broomfield, CO were both east bound in approximately the 400 block of South Beltline HWY West at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were traveling on the inside lane when the Bronco made an abrupt lane change to pass the Silverado.

The Bronco lost control and struck the south curb causing a loss of control. The Bronco crossed the center line impacting the passenger side of the Silverado. After impact with the Silverado the Bronco again maneuvered to the south and over corrected causing the Bronco to roll and come to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Childers was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, and Reckless Driving. Two passengers of the Silverado were transported by a family member to RWMC to treatment of minor injuries. Scottsbluff Fire Department and Valley Ambulance also responded and assisted on the call.
