SPD Responds to Injury Accident on South Beltline West

On July 10, at approximately 12:24 AM Scottsbluff Police were called to a single motor vehicle accident in the 2400 block of South Beltline West. Officers responded and located a vehicle upside down on its top in the ditch. Upon further investigation it was determined that 23 year old Diego Santoyo-Noriega, currently of Scottsbluff, was driving east bound on South Beltline West in a 2005 Gold Jeep Grand Cherokee. In approximately the 2400 block of South Beltline West the vehicle left the roadway crashing into a wire guard rail and then rolled, ending up upside down on its top. The jeep was considered totaled with damages in excess of $4000. The vehicle also contained two juvenile female passengers who fled the scene but were contacted a short time later in the area. All three occupants were treated and released from RWMC for injuries related to the accident. Santoyo-Noriega was investigated for driving under the influence of alcohol and subsequently placed under arrest and later transported to jail after receiving medical treatment. Santoyo-Noriega was booked into jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury to another. Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department, Scottsbluff Fire and Valley Ambulance assisted with the call.
