On Tuesday Oct. 31 at 6:42 AM, the Scottsbluff Police Department, Scottsbluff Fire Department, and Valley Ambulance were dispatched to an injury accident in the intersection of 5th Ave and East 20th Street.
Investigation revealed that a Silver 2009 Acura driven by Valerie Robles, age 71 of Scottsbluff, was northbound on 5th Ave. A white 2023 Explorer, driven by Galen Larson age 65 of Scottsbluff, was eastbound on East 20th St. The Acura violated a red light at the intersection and struck the passenger side of the Explorer.
This caused the Explorer to roll ¾ and ended up on its side. Robles, G. Larson, and passenger Kathern Larsen, age 64 of Scottsbluff, were all transported to Regional West Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Robles was cited for a traffic light violation and no seat belt.
