SPD Responds to Unrelated Stabbing, DUI

On 10-4-25 at approximately 1:10 am, SPD was dispatched to the alley in the 1700 block between Broadway and Avenue A in response to a complaint of a male stabbing victim. A 22 year old male was located with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to RWMC and is expected to make a full recovery. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Kiesel with Scottsbluff PD.

On 10-4-25 at approximately 10:48 pm, officers were monitoring the cruise route and attempted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. The black, 2015 Dodge Ram failed to pull over, and a brief pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated shortly after in the interest of public safety. At approximately 3:20 am the morning of 10-5-25, officers located the vehicle in the 1800 block of 4th Avenue. A DUI investigation was conducted, and Chandler Maldonado, 26 of Topeka Kansas, was subsequently arrested on the following charges:

Speeding (16-20 mph Over)

Maldonado was housed at Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.
