The Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska (SWANN) was recently awarded a $500 Lean on LARM Safety Grant. SWANN Operations Director Jake Stewart had applied for the grant to purchase safety gloves and sleeves to protect the baler plant crew from being injured by sharp objects.
“The crew had been wearing cotton gloves to reach in and grab unknown material. The guys really appreciated the effort we took to get them the right safety equipment,” said Stewart.
The League Association of Risk Management (LARM) is a Nebraska risk management pool and provides the grant to LARM members for items that will promote safety in their communities. For more information, go to www.larmpool.org.
