The Alliance Public Library has been exploring new software to introduce to our services. One of our best discoveries has been Panapto, which enables the staff to record their computer screen and their voice at the same time. The first person I thought of for this was Children’s Librarian, Cynthia Horn. Those of you who remember “Dial-a-Story” will love this for your kids.
I am thankful for all the staff here at the library who put in tremendous efforts to explore new options in technology for our services. Cynthia’s kindness, gentle nature, and her gift of music make this new Storytime feature for our little people a joy! When she finished the first of the features and I watched it, I could not help but be reminded of the gentle nature of Mr. Rogers that I grew up with. In these trying times, I think it is good for our children to get back to a world of calm kindness. Thanks for that, Cynthia. I appreciate your efforts beyond words.
To view the first Storytime, go to the Alliance Public Library Facebook page, click on the link by “They All Saw a Cat”, “Services”, “Youth”, and finally, “Storytime Read-a-Long.” Enjoy!
