Thomas “Tom” Estrada Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Estrada 86 of Alliance NE, passed away Sunday March 9, 2025 in Denver CO, surrounded by his family.
Tom was born April 24, 1938 in Las Vegas New Mexico to Jose B and Maria (Yebra) Estrada when his family came to the United States from Spain when his dad joined the US Army. After his dad separated from the Army Tom and family moved to Bridgeport NE where he attended school. He graduated from there in 1956. During his high school years Tom was very athletic and lettered in Track. Tom and his family worked on the Greenwood Ranch for the Keenan’s later in life the Keenan’s became family.
After graduation Tom then moved to Alliance NE, and started working at Sidles auto parts store. Tom married Eileen Jensen and they extended their family with 3 boys and 2 girls. Later in life Tom remarried Marie Pratt and gained two more son’s Doug Pratt and Thomas Pratt, Tom loved nothing more but having a big family who he loved more than anything in life. Later in life Tom hired on with BNSF and became the “King of the road.” After 30 years Tom then decided it was time to retire, he was proud of all his life moments making every trip without missing a call or having an injury. Tom always said “he had great company and co-workers who turned into family every trip.” Tom was a part of the VFW & Eagles club. Tom had many friends who were more than friends; everyone became family to the Estrada’s.
Tom survived by his brother David Estrada of Tucson AZ, his sister-in-law Millie Estrada of Hershey PA, his children, Kirk Estrada of Las Lunas, NM, Keith Estrada of Alliance NE, Landis Estrada of Alliance NE, Martie Loch of Alliance NE, Tammy Hovik of Alliance NE, Thomas Pratt of Longmont, CO and Doug Pratt of Alliance. Tom is also survived by his grandkids who were his whole world, AJ Loch of Denver CO, Hayley Whitsett of Alliance NE, Matt Estrada of Alliance NE, Nicole Estrada of Phoenix AZ, Danyel Galvin of Alliance NE, Nicolas Hovik of Alliance NE, Thomas Adam of Dallas TX, Katie Herndon of Alliance, Amy Pratt of Erie, CO and Austin Pratt of Brighton, CO and many great grandkids.
Tom will proceed in death with his sister Lenore, his brothers Ben and Lee, his parents, his wife Marie and his grandsons Michael Adam and D.J. Pratt.
The memorial service was held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance. Interment was at the Hemingford Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.batesgould.com.
