Tigers Roar Past Bulldogs 65 to 30

Football fans who like offense were definitely in for a real treat on Friday when Mitchell came in Bulldog stadium in a contest against Alliance. The visiting Tigers scored the game’s last five touchdowns and went up for a 65 to 30 win. With the victory Mitchell now sees its record improve to 5 and 1 on the year while the Dogs drop to 2 and 4. Alliance led 30 to 28 in the third period but the Tigers put the last 27 points on the scoreboard to go on for the win.

The offensive fireworks began early in the first period. A yard touchdown run the visitors gave the Tigers the lead 7 to 0 with 8:54 left in the opening stanza. Alliance answered right down, scoring on a 14 yards touchdown pass from quarterback Landon Crowe to receiver Jonah Amill. Crowe added the point after and with 6 minutes remaining the period the Bulldogs led 8 to 7. Later in the quarter Mitchell score on a one yard quarterback sneak. The pat was missed and the Tigers went ahead 13 to 8. With under 2 minutes to play in the period the Bulldogs retook the lead on one yard pass from Crowe to Seth Meyring. Crowe added the point after and the period ended with Alliance leading 16 to 13. The second quarter saw Mitchell added two more score to surge ahead 28 to 16. An interception by Alliance’s Tristen Timbers would stop a Tiger drive. Right before half Crowe went in from the one yard line and period ended with Mitchell ahead 28 to 24.

At the 10:38 mark of the third saw the Dogs take the lead. Crown connected with receiver Espen Lanik on a 66 yard scoring strike as the Dogs surged 30 to 28. It was all Tigers from that point on. The Tigers would score the games final 5 touchdowns while the Bulldogs went scoreless. With 7:16 left in the third the Tigers would score on a 16 yard run that put the guests up for the good at 36 to 30. With under 5 minutes to play in period three the Tigers added to their with a1 yard scoring run. The quarter closed with another Mitchell touchdown and the period came to a close with the Dogs down 51 to 30. The scoring by Mitchell continued in the fourth. A nine yard touchdown by the Tigers pushed the Alliance deficit to 58 to 30. Under 5 minutes left in the contest saw another Mitchell touchdown run. Crowe led Alliance with over 250 yards passing and three touchdowns. Alliance hits the road for their next game with a contest against McCook on Friday night with a 7:00 kickoff scheduled.
