Timothy Nile Riggs, known as Tim to his loved ones, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 63 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Born on February 9, 1960, in Hemingford, Nebraska, Tim lived a life of honor, dedication, and selflessness.
Tim proudly served his country as an Aerospace Propulsion Technician in the United States Air Force during the Persian Gulf War. His unwavering commitment to duty and exceptional skills contributed to the success of military operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of his fellow servicemen. During his time in the Air Force, Tim was given many awards, including an Overseas Long Tour Service Ribbon, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and a National Defense Service Medal. Tim’s service to his country will forever be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Beyond his military service, Tim was a man of great compassion and generosity. He possessed a kind heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Tim’s acts of kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tim is survived by his beloved sisters, Karen, Janet, Barbie, and Julie, as well as his cherished children, Lindsay and Brian, and Brian’s wife, April. He was a loving grandfather to Rachelle, Jaxon, and Vivienne. Tim will be missed by the mother of his children, Pamela, and his girlfriend Brenda. Tim was preceded in death by his dear parents, Chall and Jeannie, who undoubtedly welcomed him into eternal peace with open arms.
In remembering the life and legacy of Timothy Nile Riggs, we honor his remarkable military service, his unwavering compassion, and his devotion to family. His memory will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched, and his spirit will continue to inspire acts of kindness and selflessness for generations to come.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance. A reception will be held following at the Hemingford American Legion Post No. 9.
