Twelve Run Third Gives Prep Team a 13 to 7 Win over Chadron

Alliance’s Prep team picked up their sixth victory of the season with a 13 to 7 win over Chadron on Thursday. The was played in Chadron and was the first game of a doubleheader between the clubs. Alliance used a 12 run third frame to pull away in this four inning matchup . The Spartans finished the game with 6 hits with Logan Freiberger leading the way with 3. On the mound, the Peltz Co got three strong innings from starter Reese Muhr. Preston Flores threw the fourth.

Alliance scored first with a tally in the top of the first. Silas Lilley-Stone began the scoring when he got on the bases after being hit by a Chadron pitch. A knock by Freiberger moved Lilley-Stone into scoring position who eventually scored while stealing home. The hosts scored twice in the first on a walk and a couple of hits.

Inning two had both teams failing to score. The Spartans batted around in the top of the third, plating 12 runs. Hits by Freiberger, Cisco Cody, and Kylar Adams paced the Prep offense. Alliance was also aided by 4 Chadron errors in the inning. Chadron got one run in the bottom of the frame with Muhr getting 2 k’s. A hit by Adams in the Peltz Co’s final at bat was the highlight of the inning. The hosts would score 4 times in the home half of the inning but it wasn’t enough. Final. Alliance 13 Chadron 7
