Nine junior high teams competed in Morrill on Friday for the Panhandle Conference track championship. With 141 points, it was the Hemingford boys taking the title. The Cats were led by 8th grader Andrew Miller who won both the 100 hurdles and the pole vault. The Cats were also first in the 400 relay with a time of 54.5. Team members of the winning 4 X 1 were Zane Frost, Gus Butler, Cooper Galles and Trydon Sorensen. Frost also won the shot. Hay Springs was second in the boy’s team races with 103 points. As for the girls. the Lady Cats were second with 92.33 with Alliance St. Agnes winning the crown with 131 points. Seventh graders Emerson Horstman won the 100 for the Bobcats as Hemingford went 1-2-3 in the event. Taking second was Teagan Yale while finishing third was Taya Hruby. Hemingford also won the 400 relay with members: Horstman Hruby Kamryn Haas and Yale.
