The University of Nebraska at Kearney Pride of the Plains Marching Band has announced its season schedule, which begins with the Sept. 6 football game against Chadron State.
In addition to performing at all Loper home football games, the Pride of the Plains will perform Sept. 20 during the annual UNK Band Day Parade in downtown Kearney. The parade begins at 10 a.m.
Other scheduled performances include the Harvest of Harmony Parade on Oct. 4 in Grand Island, UNK Homecoming Parade on Oct. 11 in downtown Kearney and Nebraska State Bandmasters Association State Marching Contest hosted Oct. 25 at Kearney High School.
The show theme for the 2025 season features music from “James Bond 007.”
The band is under the direction of Brian Alber. The drum line instructor and director of bands is Duane Bierman, and the color guard coordinator is Adrienne Rall. Drum majors are Samantha Bursaw of Ravenna and Emily Schwaiger of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
