WCCA Board Welcomes Starr Lehl as New District 3 Representative

The Western Community College Area (WCCA) Board of Governors is pleased to announce that the District 3 vacancy has been filled by Starr Lehl of Minatare.

Lehl was sworn in at the August Board of Governor’s meeting. Lehl will serve the remaining term of former District 3 representative Misty Curtis, who resigned to accept the WNCC Alliance Campus Director position.

“We are pleased to welcome Starr to the board,” said Karen Anderson, WCCA board chair. “She brings decades of experience in public service. She will be a great asset to the Board.”

Since April 2023, Lehl has been with GROW Nebraska, assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs with the implementation of the Nebraska Small Business Assistance Act Grant program. Prior to that, she served as the Economic Development Director for the City of Scottsbluff for five years. She also spent nearly 15 years as a business development consultant for the State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development.

Lehl is a member of several civic organizations, including the Nebraska Economic Developers Association, Western Nebraska Development Network, Small Business Compliance Advisory Panel Member, and Panhandle Saddle Club. Lehl was also the mayor of Gering from 1998 to 2006.
