Wreck Sends Mother, Daughter to BBGH

A two-vehicle accident on April 16 sent an Alliance woman and her daughter to BBGH to be treated for injuries.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Sweetwater Avenue and Sixth Street in response to the report of an accident. According to John Kiss, Chief of the Alliance Police Department, Destini R. Fusselman, 25, of Alliance, was traveling northbound in a 2011 Chevrolet Impala while Dean R. Rippe, 57, of Alliance was driving eastbound on Sixth Street.

Rippe failed to yield to Fusselman and struck the left side of the vehicle.

Kiss noted that the driver-side door of Fusselman’s vehicle was rendered inoperable, leading the Alliance Fire Department to remove the door in order to extract Fusselman. Fussulman and her three-year-old daughter were transported to the hospital. Rippe reported no injuries from the accident.

All the people involved in the accident were wearing the proper seatbelts and restraints, Kiss said. Fusselman’s vehicle sustained $2,500 in damage and was towed from the scene. Rippe’s vehicle sustained $500 in damage. Rippe was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
