A Hemingford student has been named one of the candidates in the 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, picked from a pool of almost 3.6 millions students who are expected to graduate in 2023.
Rylie Wright, the child of Mick Wright and Bridget Raben, was recently named as one of the more than 5,000 candidates in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Scholars are selected based on superior academic and artistic achievements, demonstrated leadership skills and involvement in community and school activities.
A panel of educators will select 600 semifinalists in April, with the Commission on Presidential Scholars, a group appointed by the President, will select the finalists. The U.S. Department of Education will announce the scholars in May.
