2026 Fireworks Under Consideration Amid Ongoing Fire Risk Concerns

As Nebraska communities recover from recent fires, the City of Alliance is closely monitoring weather conditions that could impact upcoming summer events, including Independence Day.

Due to persistent dry conditions and a possible ongoing fire risk, the use of fireworks for this year’s Fourth of July is under review.

Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker states, “Several neighbors have reached out to me about the dry weather and their concerns about fireworks. I understand the situation and will keep a close eye on the conditions. I’ll be working with our neighbors, City Administration, and City Council to decide how fireworks will be handled in Alliance for the July 4th holiday. As we get closer to the date, I’ll make sure to share clear guidance. Keeping you and our firefighters safe is my top priority”.

Further guidance and final decisions on Fourth of July activities will be communicated as information becomes available. Residents will receive an official fireworks update by late June. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe summer for all.
