The Hemingford Junior High Track and Field team competed in the Western Trails Conference in Morril on April 19, where the boys placed third out of seven teams with a team score of 89.
The girls placed fifth out of seven teams with a team score of 53. Tayten Haas had earned four gold medals with wins in the 100 Meter, 200 Meter, 400 Meter and Discus setting personal records in all four events. Owen Plog didn’t let Haas be the only Bobcat bringing home the gold on the boys’ side as he won the Shot Put with a throw of 38’ 1.5, setting a personal record.
Dakota Horstman claimed the gold on the girls’ side winning the 800 Meter, 1600 Meter and the Pole Vault.
