Keith Nollette passed away peacefully from this earthly world at his home Saturday July 23, 2022 with his loving wife Sally by his side. Richard Keith Nollette was born in Nenzel, NE on October 4, 1940 to Richard and Dolores Nollette. He moved to Alliance in 1944 with his parents and siblings. Keith graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1958 and attended college at Chadron State College for a year before gaining employment with the CB&Q Railroad working as a carman. Within a year, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1960-1963 and was honorably discharged in 1963 then returning to Alliance where he had a long and dedicated career at what is now BNSF Railroad retiring May 31, 2002 with 28 years as a locomotive engineer.
Keith was an extremely generous man giving of money, time, and labor to those less fortunate including Habitat for Humanity. Keith is survived by his wife Sally of the home, sons Jim (Susan) Nollette of Hill City, SD, Sean (Misty) Nollette of Alliance, daughters Abbie (Ted) Gasseling of Alliance, and Shelly (Mike) Long of Hemingford, 9 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers John Nollette of Las Vegas, Tom Nollette of Dallas, TX, sisters Jeannette Ward of Denver, CO, and Roselyn Lane of Wenatchee, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce Nollette, Doug Nollette, sister Sharon Grotts, granddaughter Jennifer Long, and great grandson Sawyer Thomas Nollette.
Services will be Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance. Father Matt Koperski will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date as designated by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled American Veterans, Alliance Volunteer Fire Department, or to a charity of donor’s choice.
