Three veterans were honored and wrapped with Quilts of Valor in a ceremony Friday, July 15, lead by Kathy Dye of Panhandle Blocks, the local chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The American Legion Post #7 and American Legion Riders Panhandle Chapter # 43 also assisted. The three veterans include:
Erin (Hanson) Rodell – (Wyo Air National Guard, Nebraska Army National Guard/Captain – active) –Lincoln (formerly of Alliance). Her quilt was pieced and bound by Cindy Zurn and quilted by Christy Anderson.
Josh Rodell – (US Navy/2nd Class Petty Officer-retired – Lincoln (formerly of Alliance. His quilt was pieced and bound by Virginia Campbell and quilted by Linda Schneider.
Harold Martinson – (US Army/Sgt E5-retired) – Bridgeport. His quilt was pieced and bound by Virginia Campbell and quilted by Chris Wolf.
Erin and Josh are a married couple, and Harold is Erin’s Uncle.
