Claudia Nadene (Parker) Biles Watts Obituary

Claudia Nadene (Parker) Biles Watts, 97, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance.

She was born on June 29, 1926 in Hendley, NE to Claudius M. Parker and Mary Ann “Anna” (Mayo) Parker. She lived as a child in Samford, NE and Santa Paula, CA. She completed her freshman year of high school in Santa Paula then returned to Beaver City, NE until graduation in 1943.

She worked at Camp Funston (Fort Riley) KS while attending Manhattan Bible College.

She married Billy Jesse Biles in Norton KS in 1945. Two daughters were born to this union, Sherilyn in 1947 and Judith in 1950. Billy Biles passed away in Los Angeles CA in 1952.

Claudia moved to Lexington NE and married Victor William Watts in 1953. They lived in Lexington where he was employed as a Nebraska State Brand Inspector for 10 years. They moved to Alliance NE where he was a brand inspector until he retired. Victor passed away January, 2011 in Alliance after 57 years of marriage. Following his death Claudia sold the ranch and moved into Alliance.

Claudia was baptized in Beaver City, NE Christian Church in 1943. She loved her Lord and was faithful member of First Christian Church in Alliance. Claudia was employed at Holsten Drug and Montgomery Ward stores in Alliance. She worked for Dr. B.G Bauman for 10 years and then Dr. William Glassbrenner for 10 years until she retired in 1988.

She was a member of Eagles Club, Learn and Laugh Extension Club, Wright Precinct Extension Club, Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary since 1988, Red Hat Club and the Wednesday Lunch Bunch. She volunteered at BBGH, Good Samaritan Village, and the Mission Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters Violet White, Fern Poppert, Ann Lee; and by her grandson James W. Covalt.

She is survived by her daughters Sherilyn Covalt and Judith (Brad) Black, her grandchildren, Allison Black (David) Peters, and Meredith Black (Roger) Hutson, her great-grand child, Kady Lynn Covalt and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
