Benda Receives Quilt of Valor

Matthew Benda was presented a Quilt of Valor toward the end of 2023, honoring his service to the nation.

Sgt. Matthew Benda served in the US Army National Guard from 1997-2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, with the National Guard Unit 1057 (Chadron). He served in Iraq as truck driver, gunner, security patrol and other humanitarian missions.

Matt, who is the son of Gina Benda and the late Rick Benda. Matt and his wife Kristen live in Claremore, Okla., with two daughters: Karsen and Kinley.

The Quilt of Valor was pieced and bound by Donna Engel and quilted by Suzanne Walker.
