Eight athletes-two from Alliance Middle School and six from St. Agnes- competed at the state junior high track meet in Gothenburg on Saturday. For the AMS, two eighth graders Will Zurn and Colter Tolstedt participated in the event. Will finished 23rd in the mile with a time of 5:16. Tolstedt was also 23rd in the shot put with a toss of 36’5.
St. Agnes 8th grader Jay Shelmadine competed in two events. Jay was 21st in the pole vault with a vault of 8′ 10. The St. Agnes boy’s 400 relay also took part, ending 16th with a time of 51.9. Team members: Shelmadine, Cisco Cody, Jackson Devlin, and Tanner Salcido.
Two Lady Crusaders -Reese Armstrong and Alexis Shelmadine- competed in the one day event. Alexis was 21st in the pole vault with a mark of 7’8. Reese finished in a four way tie for 6th place with a vault of 8’2.
