James L. Carr, 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Monument Health Rapid City Regional.
He was born on February 25, 1944 in Lynch, Nebraska to Charles and Gladys (Hartman) Carr.
While living in Alliance Jim worked for the City of Alliance, Mandelbergs Auto Parts Store, parts manager for Dobson Dodge and a automotive mechanic for Alliance Motors. He married Peggy S. Kelly on May 2, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in Page, Nebraska. The family moved to Alliance in 1979 coming from O’Neill, Nebraska.
He is survived by his children, Cathy and Steve Rabender of Gering and Mike and Kim Carr of Alliance; his sister, Beth (Paul) Classen of Lake Jackson, TX, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggy, his brothers, Russell, Bob and John his sister, Eva and a grandson.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Memorials may be sent in care of his family to 702 East 8th Street, Alliance or to the Alliance Rifle Club.
