The Box Butte Assessor’s Office locked its doors to the public on Monday. This is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep employees and the public safe. The office is fully staffed and will continue to service constituents via phone, email, and mail.
Personal property filers can mail their depreciation schedule worksheet by May 1 and still be in compliance. Filers may also go online to https://personalpropertyonline.us/ to complete their filing. Another option is to email the depreciation schedule worksheet to bbassor@telecomwest.net. This email is safe and confidential.
Homestead exemption applicants are encouraged to call the office with questions.
There are two upcoming deadlines for assessment offices:
May 1 for personal property to be eligible for the personal property tax exemption.
June 30 for homestead exemption.
As of Monday, there was no extension for either of these deadlines. The assessor will make notice if there are changes.
