Regional West Foundation Awards $19,000 in Scholarships to School of Radiologic Technology Students

The Regional West Foundation Board of Directors has awarded a total of $19,000 in scholarships to five Regional West School of Radiologic Technology students.

Each year, Regional West Foundation grants health education scholarships to students from Regional West’s service area. Following graduation, many of the students pursue employment in the communities Regional West serves. Scholarship awards are split between the 2024 fall and 2025 spring semesters.

Adam Bell, Scottsbluff, and Benjamin Okraska, Scottsbluff, were each awarded $5,000 Gerke scholarships.

Sarah Wallace, Newell, South Dakota, was awarded a $1,000 Radiology Fund scholarship and a $2,000 V. Miller scholarship.

Alyssa Gonzalez, Minatare, received a $1,000 C.N. Sorensen scholarship and a $2,000 Ostenberg scholarship.

Hannah Lemmon, Gering, earned a $1,000 C.N. Sorensen scholarship and a $2,000 William Connell scholarship.

Founded in 1951, Regional West Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology is a two-year hospital-based program offering the only radiographer education program in western Nebraska. Regional West’s radiography program is nationally accredited through The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.

The Regional West Foundation was established in 1972 to support the health system’s mission of excellence in healthcare. Today, the Foundation’s success is a continuation of a long and proud tradition of community support for superior healthcare services in the communities it serves.
