Red Raiders Race Past Bulldogs

On Friday, the Alliance girl’s basketball team played host to the Lady Red Raiders from Sidney. With the loss, Alliance now sees their record drop to 0 and 9 on the year. The Dogs got a nice performance from senior Macey Seebohm who ended the contest with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Sidney also won the JV game played earlier in the evening. The visitors defeated the Bulldogs 59 to 8.

For the first 4 minutes of the contest, the action was very even. The Raiders scored first, but a bucket by Bulldog Addison Weber tied the matchup at 2. Sidney came back with 4 points in a row but a trey by Seebohm pulled the Dogs to within one. Two Seebohm free throws ensued as the hosts surged ahead 7 to 6 with under 4 minutes left in the opening quarter. From there, it was all Sidney. The period came to a close with 17 straight by the guests and the Bulldogs trailing 23 to 7. In the second, the Red Raiders scored first to push their margin to 18 at 25 to 7. A free throw by Alliance’s Brooke Bailey stopped the spree, but 9 consecutive tallies by Sidney followed as the Bulldog deficit grew to 34 to 8 with with 4 minutes remaining in the half. Two free throws by Bulldog Paz Cody made the score 34 to 10 but the period closed with 2 free throws by the guests. After 16 minutes of action, AHS was down 36 to 10.

Once again, points were hard to muster for Alliance in the third quarter. The Dogs would score only 2 points in period #3. Meanwhile, the Raiders continued to shine, scoring 15 points in the period.
